While many of the more famous country clubs around the country are old with around a century of history, the Reserve Club is fairly new. It was only established in 1998, located near a mountain in Indian Wells, California. It offers fantastic views of the Coachella Valley, along with a great desert landscape.
It took 10 years to develop the place, but it was well worth the wait. The building process focused on preserving the fragile desert ecosystem, while also thinking about water conservation. With about 1,700 trees and shrubs saved during the construction and then replanted, it’s a blooming desert that uplifts the spirit when you enjoy any of the 7 walking trails in the community.
It’s actually like being in a premium summer camp when you visit the Reserve Club. There is golf, of course, but there’s also a lot more.
You can stay healthy and fit with the expansive, 7,500-square foot Fitness and Wellness Center. Here, you can use the latest in gym equipment, 2 clay tennis courts and a hard court, a Jr. Olympic swimming pool with a kiddie pool, and steam and spa treatment rooms.
Your workouts can incorporate HIIT classes with yoga, Pilates, TRX, or any other type of workout you might prefer. Of course, you can also go outdoors for some biking, hiking, and running. Then you can relax with a personalized spa treatment with facials, body treatments, and massage.
Dining is fantastic here, whether you want breakfast out by the lake, a relaxing lunch on one of the patios, a cocktail after a round of golf, or an elegant dinner.
Their website doesn’t publicize membership costs, but the member initiation fee is reputedly set at a minimum of $75,000 with annual dues of at least $15,000. Several types of memberships are offered, including the Full Golf, Social, Junior Executive, and Family Memberships.
It’s best if you own a home in the Reserve community, although the recent sold homes values range from $1.1 million to $3.2 million. But then you have yourself a gated community, complete 24-hour security. There’s a private post office, along with a spacious grassed and fenced dog park.
