The Shooting Star is located at Teton Village in Wyoming, between the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the Snake River Ranch. It’s a gorgeous landscape with 1,300 acres of protected land, in view of 3 mountain ranges including the Tetons. It also features lots of waterways, including a Class I trout stream. It’s a place where you can really relax as you feel ne with nature.
This starts with the golf course, which was designed by Tom Fazio and regarded as one of the best in the world. It offers dramatic settings, with several holes along lakes and streams with fantastic views of the Teton mountain range. The golf course really feels like part of the natural landscape.
The clubhouse itself is a marvel. It offers a dining room and a bar, with men’s and women’s locker rooms with great lounges. There are plenty of different fitness facilities for those who enjoy a good workout, and then you can wind down at the luxurious spa. There’s also the Alpine Barn, with lockers for skiing and snowboarding and concierge services.
Go outside, and you’ll find a 25-meter tension edge lap pool along with a pool for kids. There are 2 year-round spa tubs along with a fire pit. Then there’s the event lawn and 2 tennis courts.
During the summer, the local activities generally include world-class fishing, along with activities like rafting. You can also go climbing, hiking, mountain biking, and even ballooning. Then you can enjoy some concerts and even rodeos.
During the winter, the golf course becomes a great Nordic ski facility, and you’ll also find a skating rink and a sledding hill.
Membership at the Shooting Star is by club invitation only, although you can make your interest known by sending an enquiry through the membership office. Reportedly, the full golf membership requires an initiation fee of $140,000.
The initiation fee is only $120,000 for those who own property in the development, but that’s not really much of a discount. After all, the average price for a cabin these private lands go for about $4.5 million!
