Located in Pine Valley, Camden County, in southwestern New Jersey, the Pine Valley Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in the US. It’s a private golf club, though members can invite and accompany non-members to play on this legendary course. 

Because it’s held to its tradition for so long, it only took out all its gender-restricted rules as late as April 30, 2021. Previously, women can only play on this course on Sunday afternoons. This time, women can even be members (they weren’t allowed in as members before). 

The Pine Valley golf course has consistently placed among the top golf courses in the US. The Golf Digest biennial list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses for both 2019-20 and 2021-22. 

It’s perennially listed among the 100 top courses in the US, as listed by Golf Magazine. In fact, Pine Valley topped that list in the years 2012, 2015, 2019, and 2020.

Golf Membership 

There are about 930 members of the Pine Valley Golf Club, although that list is secret. However, confirmed members of the club include noted player Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Ben Crenshaw, and Robert Jay Siegel. Other members include the late President George H.W. Bush and Sean Connery. 

This is listed as the second most exclusive golf club in the US. You won’t be able to apply for membership, however. If Pine Valley wants you to be a member, then you’ll be approached by its board of directors. That’s when you’ll know how much the membership will cost. 

Experts vary as to their estimates regarding the initiation fee and annual feels. But some of these experts believe that the annual fees can go for higher than $10,000. Take note, that’s the annual fee and not the initiation fee.
