The Pensacola Country Club in Florida is ranked 147th among the Platinum Clubs of America. That’s another way of saying that it’s 147th among the many thousands of country clubs in the whole country. It’s one of the oldest country clubs as well, with its founding dating back to 1902. It’s actually the oldest private club in the entire state.
Membership costs aren’t public, but the latest unconfirmed reports reveal that the initiation fee can reach up to $10,000 with another $10,000 in annual dues. Most memberships require residency in Pensacola, but there’s a non-resident membership with 26 rounds of golf or tennis per year at no additional fee, along with full access to everything else.
If you want full access to everything, then you’ll want the Regular membership. You have full privileges to the golf and tennis facilities, the fitness center, the aquatics complex, and the clubhouse dining and banquet facilities.
This is the membership you want if you’re eager to play on the excellent 18-hole private golf course. It’s quite challenging to play, with tight fairways and small greens. It’s even better now with the recent extensive reconstruction, with enhanced water drainage and even more obstacles along the way.
Then there’s the Young Executive membership, for those under the age of 40. The initiation fees and dues are reduced, depending on which age group you belong to. There’s the 36 to 40 age group, the 31 to 35, and members who are 30 years old or younger.
Next is the Social membership, which offers only 6 rounds of golf at the guest rate per year. With this membership, you still get full tennis and clubhouse privileges.
The Corporation membership allows your business to designate employees as members, with each member picking what type of membership (Regular, Young Executive, or Social) to get. With the Corporation membership the designated employees become members with reduced initiation fees.
There’s also the Temporary Military membership, reserved for active-duty military personnel. It requires a minimum of 2 months of use of all club facilities, and allows up to 12 months of membership.
