Located 25 miles west of Chicago in Illinois, the Medinah Country Club is one of the best private country clubs in the whole country. It’s one of the Platinum Clubs of America, surpassing standards in all the factors that matter: recreational facilities, dining, accommodations, and services.
To be a member, you first have to be invited by one of the current members. The official membership costs have not been released, but some reports state that the initiation fee costs at least $85,000.
Fees for younger applicants start at $65,000, but signing up only requires a deposit of around $10,000. The remainder of the initiation fee will be split over the next few years.
Monthly dues also depend on the type of membership. Younger members may pay about $600 a month, while more senior members may have to shell out at least $1,000 a month.
The most expensive is the Regular Membership, with full access to all the facilities. These include unlimited access to the 3 golf courses, and all the Clubhouse amenities such as the dining rooms, pool, lounge, racquet center, and golf learning center.
Then you have the Associate membership, offered to 4 different age groups. These age groups are younger, ranging from 21 to 39 years old. The access is normally unlimited, but that may change subject to regular Board reviews.
The Social Membership is also offered according to age groups. This membership offers full access to the Clubhouse features, while the member is only a guest on the golf courses 4 times a year. Green fees are also applicable.
The National Membership is for those who do not live within 125 miles of the Medinah Country Club. It offers full Clubhouse access and golf course access 12 times a year.
For those whose principal residence lies outside the US, there’s the International Membership. It also offers full Clubhouse access and golf course access 12 times a year.
Keep in mind that all membership fees, along with privileges can change at any time, depending on the decisions of the Board of Directors. The membership is non-equity, and the fees are non-refundable.
