Membership in the Martis Camp Club can be hard to come by, as golf memberships are limited to just 375 members. Memberships can also be passed on from one generation to the next, so finding a spot on the membership is truly a problem.
What’s known is that the social membership is transferable, so it may be obtained if you buy property in the community. That’s not easy either as homes here were selling at a minimum of $2 million back in 2015. Some of the houses were sold for $15 million.
The club isn’t publicizing current membership initiation rates, but in 2015 the full golf membership required an initiation fee of $130,000 with about $17,000 in annual dues.
For your money, you become a member of one of the best country clubs in the whole country. The amenities start with the golf course designed by Tom Fazio, along with other golf facilities. There’s also an 18-hole putting park designed by Dick Bailey.
The Camp Lodge houses the fitness center, outdoor lap pool, soaking and jetted tubs, club day spa, the locker rooms for men and women, and the golf shop. Here you will also find formal and casual dining facilities, along with terraces for outdoor dining.
Then there is the Family Barn. It features a 44-seat theater, bowling lanes, and even an art loft. It also has a summer swimming venue, an indoor basketball court, and an amphitheater for outdoor stage performances, along with a soda fountain.
Next, you have the Beach Shack on Lake Tahoe. It’s an acre of sun, sand, and grass, right on the shores of the lake. You can use the paddle boards and kayaks, or just relax with the chaise lounges and casual dining venue.
With the Park Pavilion and Sports Field, you’ll find the various courts for games such as croquet, pickleball, bocce ball, basketball, sand volleyball, horseshoes, and even play structures. There are fire pits and a family grill area, and lots of outdoor seating.
You’ll also have access to more than 20 miles of trails for biking and hiking during the summer. When winter comes, you can also go cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
Other locations include the Lost Library, the Tennis Pavilion with 2 clay courts and 2 hard courts, the Springs Park Pavilion and Tree House, and the Aerial Adventure Park with ropes courses and zip lines.
