The Lancaster Country Club started out in 1900, although it moved to its current location in Pennsylvania in 1913. Here, the club offered 430 picturesque acres, located mostly in Mannheim Township and overlooking the Conestoga River.

Through the years, it has been quite a success, especially with the world-famous golf course designed by William Flynn, which he created in 1919 and then revised in 1940.

By 2000, the country club had a peak membership of more than 700 members. But that number fell to a low to fewer than 500 members in 2017. What’s more, the average age of the current members was 67.

It was this situation, along with the Covid epidemic, that resulted in the large-scale renovation program. The country club dubbed this program as their “Defining Moment”, and the leaders of the country club poured in $20 million for the renovation.

The Racquets amenities include 3 Har-Tru clay courts, 6 outdoor tennis hardcourts, and even 6 hardcourts indoors, covered by a semi-permanent air structure from October to April. There are also 3 platform tennis courts, a pro shop, and a racquets pavilion with an outdoor firepit terrace.

Dining options include the Flynn Grille and Bar for exceptional dining, while you can also enjoy the Flynn Terrace during the spring and summer. Casual diners can head to the Sunset Bistro & Terrace, while the Sunset Café offers snacks by the pool.

Details regarding the membership costs aren’t readily available, and that’s not just because of privacy. The Lancaster Country Club offers several types of memberships, including the Regular membership for golf enthusiasts, the Club membership for social and tennis amenities, and the Non-Resident membership for those who live farther than 40 miles away from the country club.

The initiation fees and the annual charges also depend on several other factors. It matters whether you’re single, married, or have a family, as that will affect the costs.

To join, you also need a member to propose your application and 3 other members to sponsor it. The proposer and each endorser will have to submit a letter of recommendation to the LCC board.
