History (Year Opened)
The Desert Highlands Golf Club started around the Scottsdale Residential areas during the 1980’s. It was designed by Jack Nicklaus and Bob Cupp.
It gets its name from the lack of water hazards.
Desert Highlands Golf Club has been awarded several times. They’ve received the “Best Scenic Course” award from Arizona Foothills Magazine in 2017. They were also awarded “the best private golf course in Arizona” for two years (from 2003 to 2004) and named as one of the best private golf courses in the US from Golf Digest in the years 2000 and 2002.
Just like its namesake, Desert Highlands was nominated for the title “The Best Desert Course In the Country”.
Their other facilities also received awards – their tennis courts received Winner of the Outstanding Tennis Facility award. Prevo Health also recognized.
