Colleton River is a private community located in the Lowcountry area of South Carolina. It’s coastal living at its finest, as this private peninsula offers gorgeous vistas and reliable security. You’re not living in complete isolation, as you’re still near the charming Old Town Bluffton and the energetic Hilton Island community.
When you buy a home or lot in the Colleton River community, you’re then offered a chance to get either a Full Membership or a Lifestyle Membership in the Colleton River Club. To obtain the Full Membership, you’ll need to pay the non-refundable Capital Contribution fee of $35,000.
There’s a limited number of Lifestyle Memberships available, although both types of memberships have maximum caps. Lifestyle members don’t have golf privileges, but they do get full access to everything else.
Both types of memberships both come with annual dues, but these dues tend to change depending on the community requirements. In practical terms, members usually pay somewhere between $100 to $400 a month, and there is no food and drink minimum.
For non-golfers, the Lifestyle membership is amazing enough. It offers full access to all the social and recreational facilities. That means you can always get a workout at the fitness center, or play a sport like tennis or pickleball. There’s a pool as well for swimming and water sports. And the clubhouse offers excellent dining options as well.
But you don’t have to stay indoors. In fact, one of the reasons to be a member (or to live in Colleton River in the first place) is to bask in the glorious outdoor surroundings. You can go ride your bike on the biking trails, or go hiking on the walking trails.
As a Lifestyle member, you can’t just play golf at any time you want. But you can play a few rounds of golf every now and then, if you’re invited by a Full Member. And you’ll still have to pay the applicable fees. But for the Full Member, such restrictions won’t apply. As a full member, you can enjoy the championship golf courses at any time, and also relish the magnificent views while you play.
