Carolina Country Club is in Raleigh, North Carolina, and it’s different from the one in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The one in SC is “The Carolina Country Club”, and it’s a different club despite the confusingly similar names.
With Carolina Country Club, you’re dealing with a private club that’s been around in the same location since 1910. It’s one of the Platinum Clubs of America, and the World by Boardroom magazine has also designated it as a distinguished Emerald Club. Everything here, unsurprisingly, is simply first-class.
Membership starts with the required nomination from a current member. These nominations are issued and received through either the Membership Director or the General Manager.
Of course, it’s not that easy. Membership usually requires a wait of about 10 years, so don’t hold your breath. There’s very little information regarding the current membership initiation fees as well. One report pegged the amount at $46,000 but that was in 2006. That fee was also the highest initiation fee for a private club in the state, so the current initiation fee for new members will certainly be much costlier.
But then again, you’ll finally be able to play on a fantastic championship golf course, with the Tillinghast design giving you challenging fairways and perfectly manicured greens. It also features the short-game practice facilities, a driving range, and a well-appointed professional golf shop.
Tennis enthusiasts can’t complain about the facilities either. There are also tennis programs geared towards Juniors and Adults, so that everyone has the chance to be a tennis fan eventually.
Other departments include the ones for Wellness, Youth, and Aquatics. And of course, there is the food and beverage service, with enough space to hold grand celebrations. This is one excellent option to hold a wedding feast. It doesn’t hurt that the new clubhouse completed in 1993 exudes the appearance and charm of an Old Southern Home. However, it is also often used for bridal shower events, business entertaining, private dinners, and cocktail parties. You can always just bring your entire family there for a nice day out, or have a more romantic dinner with your partner.
