The Carmel Country Club is in Charlotte, and it’s not the most prestigious in the area. But many consider it a fun place for families, with both great adult parties and kid-friendly activities. It features lots of events for different ages and for all life stages.
It also offers 2 championship golf courses, each with its own personality on 384 acres of landscaped greenery. Both golf courses have been recently upgraded, with the South Course redesigned by Rees Jones in 2011 and the North Course renovated by John Fought in 2016.
Every golfer gets the special attention they deserve the moment they get here, and there’s also the Pro Shop where they can get the equipment they need. After a round of gold, you can always enjoy a nice drink at the outdoor Honors Terrace, while enjoying the view of the 18th holes of both courses.
Tennis is also a big deal here in the Carmel Country Club, and it even received a “2013 USTA Outstanding Facility Award” for its excellent tennis facilities. A dozen tennis courts are ready for play, and they’re all illuminated for night time competition. The Tennis Center extends to over 8,000 square feet, with a tennis lounge, locker rooms, lots of viewing decks, and a Pro Shop. It offers plenty of programs for kids as well.
In addition, you have 2 swimming pools, along with a diving board, a water tower with 2 slides, and a secure area for kids and toddlers. Nearby is the “California Style” Pool Grill, which serves tasty snacks like ice cream, iced tea, salads, and hotdogs. Of course, there are locker rooms here as well.
Then you have the fitness center, which is open 7 days a week and 364 days a year, with operating hours that night owls will appreciate. Finally, you have several dining rooms, including the main 1947 Grill, The Oak Room, the Lamplighter Pub, the Post Market for drinks and snacks, and the Gaslight Grill for indoor and outdoor informal dining. Membership is by invitation only. To be a member, you need a current member as your sponsor, and then 2 other members will be your endorsers.
