North Carolina is mad for golf. Just the western part of the state is home to at least 55 golf courses. One of those golf courses is the one at the Biltmore Forest Country Club, and it’s been ranked as #12 in the whole state. That’s not surprising considering that it’s a Donald Ross design.
The golf course, and the country club in general, has been the focal point of Asheville since it was established with the help of the Vanderbilt family in 1922. It simply oozes old money, and its reputation stands out even among all the other prestigious country clubs in the South.
It’s unfortunate that very little is known about the costs of membership for the Biltmore Forest Country Club. It’s well-known that membership is by invitation only, and that it’s a Platinum Club of America. That means out of the more than 4,000 clubs in the entire country, the Biltmore Forest Country Club is ranked among the top 3% of all of them.
The golf course is located on 135 acres int the Town of Biltmore Forest. It’s a planned residential community with 646 homes and perhaps 1,300 or so residents. Buying a home here doesn’t automatically make you a member in the club, but it can help.
Just be prepared to pay the member initiation fee and the annual dues. No one’s talking what those fees exactly amount to. In fact, the club representatives have asked other website to remove information regarding their fees.
Many of the club members do admit that the fees are worth paying, just for full access to the golf course alone. But the club doesn’t just offer great golfing facilities. Aside from golf, there’s also the historic clubhouse with 47,495 square feet of classy amenities.
This has 19 bedrooms for guests, with features such as the Club room and private meeting rooms. Dining options here also include the Grill Room, the Grill Porch, the Terrace, and Jake’s Bar. Tennis fans have a hard tennis court, along with 4 outdoor Har-Tru courts. The fitness center offers top-of-the-line qrkout equipment, while there’s also a 25-yard pool and a zero-entry pool.
