Membership to the Atlanta Country Club reportedly involves an initiation fee of $85,000—and that was in 2016. Additional reports add that the dues will be about $700 per month.
Of course, golf fanatics won’t mind paying such fees with the golf facilities here. The club was founded in 1964, and starting 1968 the ACC has been consistently ranked by Golf Digest as one of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses”. The world-class golf course has hosted several PGA and USGA events, and it has hosted the PGA event Atlanta Classic for the last 30 years. Other hosted tourneys include the inaugural Tournament Players Championship, the USGA Women’s Amateur and Senior Men’s Amateur.
But while golf is undoubtedly the main focus of the club, that doesn’t mean that non-golf fans have nothing to enjoy here. This is especially true for tennis buffs, as the club offers 4 hard courts, 4 clay courts, and a full tennis shop.
The professional staff offer expert instruction for men and women, while the Junior program offers clinics for all ages and skill levels. League play is a common thing here at the ACC.
The Fitness Center also provides other opportunities for you to keep healthy and maintain an active lifestyle. It’s been recently upgraded and expanded, so it has more to offer. You’ve got state-of-the-art weight machines, free weights, and a range of cardio equipment. Other amenities include built-in TVs in various workout machines plus iPod interfaces, and there are TVs on the walls as well. Classes are offered for yoga, Pilates, body sculpting, spin, and even kickboxing.
You can also just go and enjoy the Olympic-sized pool here. It’s a 25-yard competition pool with 6 lanes, with a shallow swimming end and a diving well. There’s also a zero-entry wading pool for the kids, complete with water fountains. You can get a bite to eat at the snack bar and relax in the pool pavilion. Of course, let’s not forget the newly designed dining rooms, and there’s a tavern as well. The chef and the dining team provide terrific menus, with locally grown and sourced ingredients.
