The Arizona Country Club in Phoenix is rated as 140th among the Platinum Clubs in America, which basically means it’s the 140th best among the more than 4,000 country clubs in the whole United States. It is also consistently ranked as the #1 family club in Arizona.

Its history dates back to 1909, when it was known as a golf resort. Over the years, it was relocated and the golf course was redesigned, before the Arizona Country Club was officially incorporated. It was the home of the Phoenix open for 19 straight years, from 1955 to 1973, and legends such as Nicklaus, Palmer, and Player have walked these same fairways.

Information regarding the membership here is scant, although it’s well-known that the membership is by invitation only. You can get on the waitlist, but that’s usually a wait of one or two years while you play as a guest. Hopefully, you already have a friend among the current members who can get you as a guest to play here, as that member may then sponsor your candidacy. Meanwhile, you can angle for a social membership.

While little information is publicly available regarding the membership fees, reports do reveal that the Young Executive membership will require an initiation fee of $52,000 with monthly dues of about $700. It’s very likely that the initiation fee will be a bit higher for the full golf membership.

Aside from the golf, you do have other amenities. The racquet sports are well represented with plenty of courts and lessons for players of all skill levels. The fitness center is huge, and that’s great as it won’t be too crowded as members use all the state-of-the-art equipment for cardio and strength training.

The swimming facilities are excellent, headlines by the Olympic-sized lap pool with a more recreational pool for relaxation and younger swimmers. The spa facilities offer a wide variety of massage therapy treatments.

Of course, the dining venues are superb, with options for fine dining and more casual fare. The social calendar is filled with lots of special events, and you can use the banquet rooms for weddings and special celebrations.
