The Phoenix Country Club is one of the oldest private clubs in the country, with its history dating back to 1899. Its membership has historically included the most influential people in the area, including Phoenix mayors, Chief Justices and Associate Justices of the Arizona Territorial Supreme Court, and Senators.

Other members have included a co-owner of the New York Yankees, the principal owner and chairman of the board of the Arizona Cardinals, a former owner of the Phoenix Suns and the Arizona Diamondbacks, and a President of the Arizona Cardinals. Alice Cooper is also a member.

Several types of memberships are available, including a full golf membership and a sports membership with limited golf privileges. The membership costs aren’t publicized, but membership initiation fees are estimated to go within $25,000 to $50,000. Annual dues should be within $5,000 to $15,000 per year.

The club offers a premier 18-hole golf course, with gorgeous views and surroundings, along with yearlong playability. As you walk around the tree-line fairways, you’re rewarded with views of Piestewa Peak, Camelback Mountain and the downtown Phoenix skyline.

Various types of tournaments are held here, and of course you have the driving range, putting green, and short game practice facility to improve your skills. The members of the Golf professional staff are all certified by either the PGA or the LPGA. Private golf instruction is available, and there are junior golf programs for the kids.

Those who favor racquet sports have 10 lighted tennis courts for day and night play, along with pickleball courts and a full-service tennis shop. There are competitive individual and team play programs for both men and women, with training programs for individuals and groups.

The pool center offers 3 swimming pools, with a 25-yard 6-lap pool heated for yearlong use. There’s also a recreational pool along with a pool for the toddlers. There are plenty of children’s swimming camps and activities, plus a poolside swim shop.

The fitness center features top-of-the-line equipment, with certified instructors, weekly group fitness classes, and personal training. This is open 7 days a week, starting at 4:30 in the morning. There are massage treatments, daily care for kids, a weekly car wash service, and a full-service barber shop.

The clubhouse also offers 8 banquet venues, and menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The social calendar is also filled with lots of special events.
