The Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club is the oldest private country club in OKC, as it was established back in in 1911. It’s also the most prestigious, as its long history has included many influential members of the OKC elite through the years.
Membership here is by invitation only, and to get in, you have to be approved by the Membership Committee, and then by the Board of Directors. The prices for getting in (and remaining a member) are secret, and they do change a lot year by year.
The Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club is in Nichols Hills, and about 80% of the members live withing 3 miles of the country club. Nowadays, the OKCGCC doesn’t accept any new non-resident nominations. Several other types of memberships are still available, but there are caps for memberships in place.
If you get a stock membership, you and your immediate family can use all the facilities. These include the gorgeous golf course, 3 indoor tennis courts, the Olympic-sized pool, the fitness center, and the facilities for find and casual dining. You can also attend the social events.
Keep in mind that this is limited to just 500 members. As a stockholder, you have voting rights. But you have to pay for a stock, which was priced at $40,000 way back in 2005.
There’s also a transfer fee for this, which was $15,000. Monthly dues were $445, with a minimum of $50 each month for food and beverages. Again, these are 2005 prices. Chances are, the stocks and the other fees will be much higher today.
With the Executive Membership, the cap is only 45 members. This type of membership is available for those under the age of 42. It offers the same privileges as the stock membership, but without the voting rights.
If you’re a child or a grandchild of a current member and you’re between 26 and 42 years old, then you can get the Junior Golf Membership. You also have all the privileges, including golf.
The Social Certificate membership is limited to just 370 members. This does not offer golfing privileges. The Junior Social Certificate membership offers the same privileges and limits, but it’s available for those between the ages of 26 and 42.
