Considered as among the very best country clubs in the US, the Ocean Reef Club is not so much a club as an exclusive community. It has its own school, along with a fire department and a museum.
It also has its own security force, along with a 4,000-foot airstrip. There’s also a marina with 175 slips, and docks for yachts as large as 175 feet.
You can get fit in the member fitness center, with its advanced equipment for cardio and strength training. Then you can relax in the Ocean Reef Club Fishing Village, with its cafes and several shops to browse in.
You have to live here to be a member. For that to happen, once you become a resident then you have to be sponsored by 2 current members of the club. You’ll then be able to purchase a Charter Equity membership for $200,000.
Your membership must be approved before you close on your property, otherwise you won’t be able to re-apply for Equity membership for five years.
However, there are annual Social memberships that families can avail, even if they do not own property in the Ocean Reef community. These memberships are renewed at the discretion of the Club each year.
Equity Members can get the Annual Trail Pass for a one-time fee, instead of paying daily green fees. This comes with a long list of benefits, such as various discounts and a 7-day advanced tee time booking.
Prices depend on whether you’re applying as a couple, individual, or a young adult under the age of 24, with the highest prices not going over $1,900.
For Social members, the options include a 30-day golf membership that costs a little over $2K. You can pay for several rounds of golf at once, with 5 rounds going for about $940. For 30 rounds, the cost is about $5,644. From May 15 to October 15, a Social Member can get a Summer Golf membership. This will cost $1,075 for a couple, while it’s $860 for an individual. A young adult pays $537.50, while dependents under the age of 18 pays $322.50.
