History (Year Opened)
Augusta National was founded in 1932. The golf course stands on a former plant nursery and plantation. Bobby Jones designed the course with the goal of creating a world-class winter golf course native in Georgia.
Former US President Dwight Eisenhower was invited to Augusta National. The first Masters was held in 1934, and its first club professional was Ed Dudley, with 15 wins on PGA.

Membership
To be a “green jacket”, membership prices rumored to have been paid cost between $100,000 to $300,000. Membership to the National is also by invitation only. Augusta National is no longer an all-male club, as two female members were accepted close to a decade ago.
Annual dues cost $30,000. Once a member is given the literal “green jacket”, they’re required to wear it during tournaments. The jackets are to be returned if they’re not used, except for winners of Masters, who can keep the jacket for a limited amount of time before they get collected.

The green fee for Augusta National is $350, but this estimation was in 2018. During the week when Masters is held, it bumps up to $500.
Public or Private?
Augusta National is a private golf club. Membership is via invite only. Former President Dwight Eisenhower and his wife were invited to the club before.
Facilities
Augusta National has a default clubhouse, locker rooms, a wine cellar, pro shops, a bar, and cabins. There are three cabins dedicated for sponsors – currently, they’re for Mercedes-Benz, IBM, and AT&T.
In addition to these facilities, Augusta National has strict rules when it comes to its members, staff, and patrons (guests). Electronic devices are not allowed on the site.
Augusta National also has impeccable maintenance on the golf course. Trees of pine needles are imported. The club also went far as dyeing the waters blue, but they stopped the practice. Bird sounds are played over speakers.
There are some notable places on the Augusta National Golf Club course – Berckmans Place, a press building, Eisenhower’s tree (which was later cut down), the Amen Corner, and several other amenities.
Difficulty Rating
The Augusta National has an unofficial rating of 78.1 given by the USGA. Prior to this, it had a rating of 76.2. The course is an 18-hole course.
